I just wanted to take a moment and say hello to everyone. I'm fairly new to BMS, but I do have some real-life experience with F-16's (I used to be stationed in a SEAD/DEAD SQ from 2008-2010 as their intel bubba), so hopefully it won't take me too long to get up to speed and start flying with you all!

Welcome Phantom!

What neck-o-the-woods ya from?! (Timezone at least)

We're a bit unorthodox around here if you are used to structure, but we have a lot of fun. I'm going to be away for a week or two starting tomorrow, but if you're around when I get back - maybe we can set up a flight or two.

Cheers,

Welcome to the jungle Phantom.

I was intel in the Army for 12yrs.

Hopefully soon I will get back to flying. Just moved back to CA from TN and things are amok.

Not to mention my mic took a dump.

Look forward to meeting you. Drop by the TS, most days guys are on.

Cheers,

Brian

Hey Phantom, welcome!

I hear that you're not easy to offend. <cue my inner Leonidas> "We shall put that to the test!"

As Schnidrman said, we're a laid back group that focuses on having fun and we're pretty relaxed with comms and SOPs. If you've got air force experience, it's quite likely that our comms will make your toes curl. So yeah, fun = good, structure = sometimes. :)

We're a little slow these days. Things go in waves and life keeps on happening. I've been taking an unintentional break from falcon recently, but i'd like to get back to some regular flying. My new(ish) computer doesn't like all my hardware and is giving me grief randomly, which is wearing on my patience. But i digress...

Let's hook up for a check flight sometime! Feel free to post something up in the MISSIONS area when you're available.

Welcome again!!

steve

That would be great! Maybe when I get back we can resume my campaign. Phantom is welcome to fly along as well if he wants. I need live bodies. Since China and Russia have entered the war I'm getting all kinds of air resistance. Hell I'm pushing Hamhung and Pyongyang and their sending SU's and Mig's close enough that Osan is shooting SAMs. These are pics from day 5...

I'd be down for that. As for my hardware, I'm currently using the Saitek X52 HOTAS. I'd like to get a head tracker to free up one of my hats, but those things can get kinda pricey.

There are cheaper alternatives than TIR. If you own a PS3 eye, you can get set up with facetrack pretty cheap. Google or search BMS forums for more info. I'm at the airport right now, otherwise I would post links. Posting w/phone sucks.

Welcome Phantom!

Despite the fact that I just bought a TrackIR + DCS A-10 bundle for the misses, I'm not sure if it's still invest in one right now considering the VR sets being around the corner. I think those will possibly change our experiences a whole lot. Might have to wait it out all a bit though. Still, I'm can't help but being excited about those.

Hope to fly with you someday soon. I'm currently mostly flying DCS (P-51, BF-109, UH-1H & A-10C) though.
