LOL, I have most of it figured out, I just want to check a sequence input that seems to give me issues.

Thanks,

Brian

I decided to approach this in a different manner, not with manual install but with the .exe.

I attempted to apply the Hud mod .exe to 420th Balkans theater first and here is the result for the BLK40 and the BLK42:

The experiment worked. So I'm going to try it on all my theaters installed, which is 10 theaters in my base install.

Backup, Backup, BACKUP :bang:

Haven't been messing around, weather is bad, had my rig take a dump and that took the better part a day to resolve. All is well now and will get back on this soon.

I got everything re-installed last night. I found a block 40 HUD installer that didn't have the pilot body that worked great and then i added the legs separately (want the legs, not the torso). So far, so good! I'm still interested to know how to install the block 40 HUD in other theatres though...

EDIT: I found some youtube tutorials by metalhead, but he seems to skip a critical step that i can't figure out. I now know how to add new parents and associate LODs to them, but i don't know how to associate a given cockpit parent to a given airframe. Is it done through the ckptart files? I opened a few but didn't see any references to parent or LOD numbers.

Please link to the Y2 vids, so I can use them to make a non video tutorial, especially the New Parent stuff, which he left out on his BMS text tutorial.

To get them into other theaters, you have to swap out the objects folder from the add on theater into BMS and use the .exe. Then replace it into your add on theater and restore the BMS objects folder. Or that's the theory which I'm running on now. Testing it again right now.

Just tested out Add-On 420th Balkans with the above procedure and all went well. Checked the 16C/D-BLK40 and the 16C-BLK42 in TE and Campaign and it works fine.

Now to test it in another theater. Battle for Sinai.

Remember, this is with the .exe, which does not contain any body parts of the pilot.

So far so good.

I had got it into the 420th Balkans theater before but when I was cleaning up the files, I porked something and had to start anew, but it's good now. (Last time I was a, uh, ehrm, little tipsy and lost track of files, hehe)

Will link the vids when I'm home. I didn't use the exe. I copied his koreaobjects.lod (or whatever) and copied over the cckpit.dat and dds files. Worked fine and I like it because I understood what was being modified. I then added my other mods onto his default.
