Yes, Happy Hoser day to Steve and Ryan.

Today in History:

In 1867: Canada became a self-governing dominion(slave of the queen, lol) of Great Britain as the British North America Act took effect.

In 1980: "O Canada" was proclaimed the national Anthem of Canada.

Have a good day gents!

Brian

what the hell did they sing before hockey games before 1980?

RAM22 · **Posted:** Mon Jul 01, 2013 12:54 pm

"Hail to the Queen", lol

HAR HAR HAR!

Good question crazy... O Canada was written in 1880, was widely used as the "unofficial anthem" from 1939 and then was "officially" adopted in 1980. At hockey games prior to 1939, they sang "Blue Suede Shoes".

Yeah, took a long time. Not because it was a hard decision, but rather because every time they got everyone together in the same room, some asshole busted out a keg and nothing got done. :duh:
