The temperature was unseasonably warm tonight, around 45F (7C), and the sky was crystal clear. Figured it was time to dig out the old telescope and give her a run, it's been a long time. :( Found it in the back storage area next to the weight set that also hasn't seen use in a while...

Just for the hell of it, I decided to see how well my phone camera would work. I have never taken photos through a telescope...consider that a disclaimer.

Here is what it looked like with a galaxy4 phone camera looking through a 70mm refractor using a 20mm lense w/ 2x Barlow lens.

Jupiter, and a few of her moons

And finally our own satellite...

Sobriety and better equipment would guarantee better picture quality...hard to hold a cell phlone over a felescope lens affterr a flew bleers! :P

NOT the kind of amateur night that I was expecting when I saw the title. I was expecting some close-up shots from perverts row!!!

I can't see the images well enough on my phone. I'll take a look when I'm in the office.

Yeah, not great quality. But at least I knew what I was looking at! I couldn't get the phone camera lens to line up with the smaller lenses, so not much detail. Going to have to come up with some hardware and a better camera for detailed shots.

Nice pics. I should dig me tele out, but it's not as good as yours for sure. Plus it's a pain in the ass, hehe

Been there done that. Also found out yesterday, she re-married 3 days ago. Found out through Facebook.

Pretty sure my 3 girls knew about it, but didn't tell me. Probably they didn't want to throw gas on the flames, that's fine with me.
