My SP Israel campaign came to a close at Zero hour, Day 7. I had let the clock run after I went to bed Friday night and woke up to a stalemate campaign. Never going to mess w/ ground units again...I am sure that is what caused my ground troops to stall and Brian verified that this was most likely the case.

Saturday had me busy all day and the Wife was wanting my "attention" that night so on Sunday afternoon I decided it was time to go back to Korea. Started a Rolling Fire campaign and things were pretty busy on opening day of the conflict.

First mission was a OCA and was successful. That was followed by an couple of Intercept missions that earned me 3 AA kills on each mission...then things got really good! The next mission was a SEAD strike at Wonson AB. It was a target rich environment with a ton of vehicles all jumbled together and lots of AAA. I was only able to drop two of my CBU's before I got hit by some ground fire, and with limited functions it was time to go back. Unfortunately I was jumped by a couple of migs and was shot down about halfway home. I didn't even get to bail as it was a direct hit (plane would not turn worth a damn) and I turned into an instant fireball. The good news however was that I earned my second Air Medal. :D

Monday night after getting home from work I couldn't wait to get back in the saddle and found another SEAD strike targeting the Air Defenses around Taebukpo-ri highway strip. When I arrived at my IP, it was obvious that this was going to be a fight! Before I could drop any CBU's I had to take care of some migs that scrambled to intercept my wing man and myself. We took care of them quickly and I commenced to wreck havoc on the ground. By the time I dropped my first two bombs I was starting to get low on fuel, so I turned my attention to the Engineer Battalion that was sitting on the runway like ducks in a row. I went in for a low and fast pass and pickled my remaining two CBU's...not noticing until after I pickled, that there were a couple of migs trying to get on the same runway. Somehow, the migs escaped my cluster munitions, but it would have been sweet to get them with AG ordinance.

Upon RTB, I was surprised to see that I had earned another medal...my first ever Distinguished Flying Cross! This is also the first time I have earned medals in back to back missions!

This is what my logbook looked like before those two missions...

...and this is what it looked like after!

Over the last couple of months I have made vast improvements in both skill sets and situational awareness. I owe a lot of thanks to the 420th for taking me under their wing and teaching me some of the things I wasn't doing correctly and some things that I could just be doing better. Thanks guys, I am definitely enjoying the ride so far!

WHAT!! The dude is a HIGHLY Decorated ACE flyer, has basically save Humankind from the grasp of the Communistic hand. He had both legs severed, then amputated in one unlucky shoot down by a MIG29. But kept flying, then lost an ear and an eye in another attempted shoot down but returned to base, saving his airframe, all the while, flying with no legs!!!

Then on his last mission, he lost his landing gear and had to belly land on fumes at Home Plate and something went amiss with the undercarriage of the aircraft and his Goober and one of his Gonads were sliced from his crotch!!! All he has hanging down there in his flight suit pants is one testicle. He can't do much as you can't bowl with a Gonad. Hell, even pocket pool is out of the question as he only has the cue ball left!!!

And this is all you got?? No Congrats, or Good Job Man??

 :D  :D LMFAO

I think that is supposed to be a compliment.
