I'm interested in installing the AH-64D mod by Nodunit and Franze. I've been wanting an Apache sim for years, and eventhough this won't be DCS or BMS level, it might still be just enough to keep me happy.

I've been able to convince Barbara to get a copy of Arma 2 so she can act as gunner (or pilot for that matter). So in the hopes that our older PC can run Arma as well, cause I rather not have to buy a new system just yet. It's a Core 2 Duo 2.8 cpu with Radeon HD 4770. We'll find out tonight ...

Jay-bee, I'll be needing your help in creating a practice mission :) Whenever I made a quick one yesterday with a pilot and a helo, the helo was always occupied by pilots already. How did you spawn those two empty little birds yesterday?

Jay, there's a mod that makes the Apache more like a sim. Probably some avionics and stuff.

Mud, if you want empty choppers, here's the procedure:
add unit, change the "player" to "non playable", change the "blufor" to "empty", select "air" and select apache as the unit type.

When you create the characters, make them "playable" and not "player".

You might wanna put in some MTVR's to resupply ammo, fuel and one for repairs. To resupply, get in the truck and use the windows key to interact. You gotta be fairly close to the chopper for it to work.

I can probably create something for you maybe when I get off from work.

Mixed feelings about the mod to be honest. The flight model seems a lot worse than the stock one. Avionics are a nice addition though. Need to fumble some more around with it to make a proper verdict.

is it a client side mod or a server mod? like if you have it, do we have to use it to?

I have no idea, Jay.

I do know that it left the stock one intact, as you have to specifically select this one to have it in a mission.
The mod is about 120MB

edit: typo
