WOW! Yesterday I had to remove a snake that look exactly like that, that was on my walkway. It was black and had some light gray holographic markings on it back.

I was trying to scoop it up with a shovel and the damn think attempted to strike me. Finally got him up and tossed him out into the wilderness.

Really wish I had the area to garden on. I have 8/10th's of an acre of land but it's all overgrown and is on the side of a hill. And there's nowhere in the front to garden. I love gardening although I haven't done it in almost 15yrs.

Snake is good eating, albeit a little greasy. You guys should have been BBQ'ing, not "returning to the wilderness"!

LOL, I have ate snake once. When I was a kid, visiting my grandparents in Arizona, they made rattlesnake and told us it was chicken, ha, it tasted like chicken as far as I remember.

They also fed us squid, and told us it was chicken too, which I didn't like.

Them sneaky rascals. :D

If it was a bad snake then it would have met it's end right there. This is a Black Rat Snake and is beneficial to me in the fact that they prey on rodents and baby rabbits and squirrels, which like to damage my veggies. This snake is welcome to hang around as long as she likes! I haven't seen one of these snakes in quite some time as most people kill them on site because they are afraid and don't know any better.

I've eaten snake before, and like Brian said..."tastes like chicken". Around here the venomous snakes are Copperheads, Water Moccasins (Cottonmouth), and a couple of Rattlesnake breeds. The rest are harmless and mostly beneficial.
