LOL. We haven't had a 10+ page thread in a long time. It was sure to get messed up at some point! :P

Well, I'm waiting on VR for the pixel quality, which I am sure will come along in the second or third generation. Maybe some ergonomic changes too. Keep updating...I'm really interested to know if you still like it after a few months of use. Sore neck? Ocular issues? Equilibrium issues? Seizures? Ya know, the basic stuff.

I hear they are working on even better picture quality for small screens, so maybe in a couple of years, who knows, I might buy one myself.

Yeah, I think the future's looking bright. I'm just not sure if it'll be a niche product like TiR or if there will be enough interesting content mainstream. I mean for us simmers it's awesome, but I'm not so sure about other games.

What did you have your pixel density set to, Jay?

In either case the GPU market will have to up their game as well, as my 1070 is barely enough for a 2.0 pixel density in DCS (ED is fine at 2.0). So higher res VR will require quite some puter-power.

Yeah, it's the same I'm running then.

I reckon I get away better with it than you do because of my poor eyesight. When I jumped in the Viggen yesterday on my normal monitor, I had to lean in a lot to see the dials. In the Rift everything seems closer and therefor more readable for me.
So despite the less crisp textures, I can see everything a whole lot better. My monitor is a Dell U2410 (1920x1200).

As for ED: I'm doubting now if I should keep on flying with my Corba or go for the next step. Really like the Cobra though. :)

why not both? :D

cobra's a useful little ship. vulture probably your next logical upgrade for pure combat, those two L hardpoints are fun.

asp explorer can be a good allround ship, not stellar at combat though, exceptional jump range

Still love my Vulture. Had a blast busting it out again last week. It's one of the most agile ships in the game -- makes fighting the big, slow ships lots of fun. I started making good money once I got mine, well good money by combat standards anyway.
