I downloaded and installed Toms Korea 2015 the other day:

http://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/show ... Korea-2015

I've only flown around Kunsan and Seoul, but it looks pretty. He's changed the elevations file to suit his tiles, so clients with different elevation sets could get some odd behaviours like floating/buried buildings/units.

Check 'er:

Suffers from some repetition, at least in this part of the world, but it's a refreshing change. I went to google earth to compare and, "yup", there are LOTS of farms in South Korea.

Brian,
To alleviate the elevation "issue" between those who do and don't use these tiles, could i simply copy the stock elevations back into the terrain folder? I don't think it would break anything but it could make some of the rivers look odd i guess. Correct, or is there serious porkage potential?

EDIT: Honestly, we need to find a way to blur the terrain more at elevation. They're just too crisp. Like a thin layer of fog or something that washes out the details as you get higher up. Didn't FF have fog?

Blah blah blah....

The fog in FF was a coding masterpiece by BaldEagle which we can re-produce as none of us have access to the code or are C++ coders. And messing with the artwork won't work as you'd see it from altitudes, so that's pretty much a no go. Sort of stuck with what he's done.

I've installed them also on a separate BMS install that I have for Molni's Korea 80's theater. They look okay, but he has those highway interchanges in some weird places, like on the edges of both sides of the DMZ...at DMZ Checkpoints, You know those don't exist, lol

See here:

Anyways, let me try porting over the Theater.mea(elevation file) file on my end as this is a separate install from my MP install and see what I get. Don't want you to pork your stuff up.

I changed the fog settings in weather as per Tom Catz recommendation. HUGE DIFFERENCE! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I swapped out his clouds for those by Nuno Santos, which i much prefer.

Shots from our BAI tonight:

@ Harley...

Downloaded Tom's 2015 tiles Sunday and they look different than yours. Did you install the final version? Or are you using a different season (i.e. Fall/Spring)? I am using the summer setting.

Tom did a really good job in cutting down repetition vs. his 2014 tiles. But as you can see, I have a lot less tan/brown in my tiles, and some bad water tiles on the west coast. I actually like it better without all the brown and tan. I also used Tom's fog settings. Screenies below...

Yeah, looks like he changed them to be more green. See post #107: http://www.bmsforum.org/forum/showthrea ... 015/page11

I'll download to take a look as well although i have become quite fond of the brownish tones...
