Thank you schnidrman. Well this year we are going to celebrate as I'm sure our Fallen Comrades would have liked.

Event will be a one day shindig with Aerobatics, Boat Races, DF's and more. All we need is your Squadron Skin to match the Jet you guys would like to fly. We will accept almost any jet from the F15 to the F22 and the SU27. As long as you have a 420th skin to go with it.

Will post here as things develop...

This is an awesome event that you guys put together every year. It's a fantastic way to remember your friends and i'm honoured to be invited to participate with you guys.

I very much want to attend this year. I haven't been able to do so in previous years due to timing because for some odd reason AUS refuses to accept Eastern Standard Time as the standard by which we should all live our lives! Hopefully it will be happening in the evening or very early morning over here as i will do whatever i can to get on.

I'll put together a new skin for the event and send it over. (i'm happy to entertain any original ideas anyone may have btw)

It would be great if we could get a number of us over there to support our friends (yes, even Shadow!) at the 801st for this event.

Thanks for posting here Coco! I hope you don't mind that i created a new topic for this. I didn't want it to get lost in another thread. You know you're allowed to start topics here, right? ;)

Sign me up! You had me at Aerobatics and DF. But Boat Races, as in the drinking game?? I'm totally in then.

EDIT: Is the link down? Can't access or find the post on the 801st forum.

Spaz, sign in on the 801st website then come back and try the link. I think the post is only open to wing members and partner wing members (I can only see the post, but don't have reply privileges), so if you haven't registered over there since they changed their webpage a few weeks ago, I don't think you can see it.

But just for shits and grins, here it is again...

Got it man thanks. I hadn't been through the POST-REPLY thingy yet, so I wasn't a full member. But when I checked it last night it was all good.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for wanting to be a part of our commemorative flight. Last year was a bummer for we wanted to have it around Memorial Day in May but only 4 of us could attend. This year it will be April - date TBA - and if we get a good turnout we might have 12-18 pilots.
My idea is a TE with one airbase as the "showground" just south of Seoul. The satellite airbases is where our squadrons will be based. Each Squadron ie. 420th, 27th, 20th, 801st will have their individual jets and skins and will take off from their satellite airbase and land at the showgrounds airbase. Then each squadron can do an aerobatics show, high speed passes etc... The other squads can sit in their jets and watch. After all the squads have had some fun, we'll do a formal missing man formation and see if we can get everyone up in the air and do a massive formation flight. After the formalities we will organise a DF Comp and the airspace will be restricted to within the length of the runway and an altitude of say 1000ft. All pilots who are watching will be the judges and this should really get a huge laugh as I'm sure a lot of us will be hitting the ground.
Then we will all fly to Kimpo for the "Boat Race". This is a Reno Air Races style event where we all take off with full burners, smoke on after wheels up, tight right turn at the army camp 100ft ALG at Mach 1.1 past the radio tower at Seoul, through the hangers at Mach 1.2 and a hard right turn over the hill, past the cooling towers at nuclear plant. Bee line it for Kimpo Airbase, airbrakes out, gear down, come to a full stop off the runway - anywhere will do - then refuel as fast as you can and takeoff again for Dog Fight guns only over the airbase against the other survivors. First one to come to a full stop after touchdown is the winner... after that there are no rules in the DF- free for all! Fraps is a must!
At the moment we have the AHIP Memorial Skin for the F16 and Link is working on the F15C skin for this event.
Shad I'm sure will be doing Cobras in his SU27 and you are more than welcome to include any jet you like.
I would like to have a rough schedule - for example: 6-7pm flghts arrive, 7-8 aerobatics. 8-9 missing man and formation flying, 9-11 DF and boat races... so allow at least 4 hours for this.
Oh, how does a Saturday 1800 East Coast USA sound for a start time?

Sounds good Dave! 1800 is traditionally a little early for me, but i'll see if i can whip up a crazy good dinner the day before so i can bank some "points" to get out of active dad duty early on saturday. :)

I like the idea of having squadrons at different bases. None of you want to share the bathroom with us. TRUST ME. We're going to need a lot of frames. If i try to follow Spaz on one of his flybys, there's going to be fire.

Evening start is best for me, I have many engagements on the April weekends during the day, but evening is great. 1800 EST is perfect as well. This is sounding like it's going to be a great time, the air races bit brings me back to FSX. Also put me down for a CF-18 Demo please.
